You are in year 1 of your apprenticeship. When you reach 48 months you will write the National Trade Test. Keep collecting evidence and building your portfolio.
Apprenticeship Milestones
Y1
Foundation year. You work under close supervision on basic repairs. Build your logbook with evidence of at least 50 repairs.

Y2
Independent repairs on common appliances. You handle stoves, microwaves, and washing machines with minimal supervision.

Complex diagnostics on refrigerators, freezers, and advanced electronic systems. You begin supervising new learners.

Trade test preparation. You compile your final portfolio and complete the National Trade Test to become a certified artisan.
